THE WORK AND LIFE OF SETTLERS IN MAGNETAWAN
Welcome to Magnetawan Heritage Centre located in Daley Brother’s Power Plant. This site was first flour and feed mill then later the cement building was constructed to house the 75 watt generator. This power station generated hydro for the village until the 1950’s. Located next door is the antique steam engine which was used as power for a sawmill in Sprucedale. The Pioneer Cabin is located next which houses display of furniture, clothing and utensils used by the early settlers. Come visit our heritage site this summer. We open July 1 until Labour Day weekend and the hours are 10:00 AM – 4:00 PM 7 days a week. We are located next to the locks on Highway 520 entering the village from Burks Falls.
Museum open: July 1st until Labour Day weekend daily 10:00a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
