WE MAY BE SMALL, BUT WE THINK BIG!
The Nipissing Township Museum is situated on Highway 654 in the Village of Nipissing. Launched in 1975 to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the opening of the Nipissing-Rosseau colonization Road, the museum is housed in a former church made of hand-hewn logs, built by craftsmen in the late 1800's. The building itself is a former Methodist church that became an Anglican church when the Methodist and Presbyterian churches became United. It is one of the oldest churches in the diocese of Algoma, often visited by the famous missionary, Reverend Gowan Gillmor. On display in the museum are several artifacts from the church itself as well as many others representing the history of the area.
Museum open: Mid June until Labour Day
